And buying several items from the same dealer, e.g. OWC, would also minimize
shipping costs. I don't want to sound like their ad manager, but I've always
had super service from OWC.
Anyway, as stated by others here, OWC has a bunch of stuff that can help you
out:
- 128MB RAM at $45
- the 8MB iXMicro video card above (new, though you might be able to find
used 16MB Rage or Voodoo 3 cards at a similar price)
- an XLR8 Carrier card and OWC G3/333-1MB processor Zif at $180
And lots of hard drives, etc. They also have the VST Ultratek ATA/66
controller, with Softraid software, at $88.

Obviously depends how much you want to spend on an older machine, but the
above, with 2 banks of 128MB RAM, would set you back $310; or right around
$400 with the IDE controller. And it's all quality stuff with good
warranties, apart from the video card, as ixMicro is out of business; though
it's a good card at a good price.
Put that all together with your 21" monitor and USB connectivity, and you've
got a setup that can last for a few years yet. Good luck.
