For Vitual PC or such programs to work well enough to not frustrate
you, you definitely need a fast G3. I find VirtualPC 4 w/ Win95 works
farily well on my 7300/ w G3 400 sonnet. It does not work as well on
my Beige G3 233: I have alot of problems with sound on various
programs. I do not have the patience to use Win98, some seem too.
Perhaps on a fast G4, it would work better. The DOS 166 PCI card does
work very well, as you actually have a real Pentium chip, but the
problem is that Apple does not support it any more, even though there
are 3rd party solutions, which is too bad as it was a much better
solution that emulated programs but these DOS cards were very
expensive when they first came out. I could not get DSL to work right
with the DOS PCI card. DSL works great with VirtualPC 4. The reality
is that only a real PC works good enough in the long run. These
emulated programs are only good in a pinch, it seems to me. But they
do get better and better. VirtualPC 4 is definitely amazing and there
is much hope that it will only get better and better. Of course,
unless, Apple makes a super jump in processing power, it will always
lag.

>Can it be a 166MHz PC or slower? Anyone has experience with this?
