One thing you have to be careful of is the TV/FM tuner is a
standalone product. You would need to purchase the Video card
separately. The system is made up of a tuner and video card. Some
educational Mac's came with the "video presentation system" which
does not include the TV/FM tuner.
So if you have the Video presentation system your set and could just
buy the TV/FM tuner. Personally, I think your better off and alot
cheaper with the TV/Video system which is complete but doesn't have
the Radio. What would you really need the radio for? I guess you
could record radio sounds but you can attach your receiver to your
Computer anyway by going line out of receiver to the Microphone and
set "line in" and you have your Radio.
Another thing to consider as well, is that you really need a second
monitor to do the TV system justice. Apple TV system can only handle
640x480, so if you have a 17in monitor you can't even use it with the
higher resolution. It gets very grainy looking at 832x624. Now I have
the iXMicro TV PCI tuner with my 7300 and it works quite nicely on
the 17in but I still have a second monitor anyway to view the TV, as
the TV get's in the way.
My suggestion is to get a decent video card so you could add a 17in
monitor and use your regular monitor port for a 14inch monitor with
the TV, as you don't use the high resolutions anyway. Otherwise, just
put your TV next to your computer and you will have the same thing.
