Are you connecting to an active ethernet port? The ethernet option
will only show up when you are connected to an active ethernet port.
If you are connecting into a hub, make sure the power is on and the
port is functioning. If you are plugging into a wall point (at your
work etc...), ensure the wall point is properly patched.
Otherwise it could be a problem with the onboard ethernet on your
machine, or the installed ethernet extensions..
if using a PCI ethernet card, check that you have the correct
drivers/extensions for the card installed.
You have made no mention of whether this is a first time attempt at
getting ethernet working for AppleTalk or that you have had it
working for awhile now and the problem has just occurred.
