I installed new memory in my 9500, and a few days later noticed that my cd-rom drive was not working. It never gave me any indications of any problems. I used an external cd-rom drive and had to get special drivers for it. (mount anything)? I ordered a new one which was slower than mine from small dog, but I couldn't argue speed for price. The new one came with some kind of copper tape all over it, and I couldn't get to the plug ins, so I pulled it off. (not knowing this was some kind of ground, I suppose) When I started my mac I had no monitor? Pulled it apart checked everthing, nothing again. So, I put this tape back on the sides of the drive, and everything worked fine. I sorta wonder, does equipment ever have to be regrounded, or is there such a thing, and why does it come on new cd-roms, or was it just my model?
