Kari, all G3 and G4 upgrades work with anything from 7.5 up. They are 
all OS9 compatible. Where did you get your information from? Why 
would anyone ship an upgrade that would not run on Apples current 
system software? That would be stupid. Although it is being done I 
would only recommend running OSX  on native G4's, not machines 
upgraded to G3 or G4 status or even beige G3's due to it running 
slowly on these machines.
