There never was a PCI based modem for the Mac.   All older Macs, 
including yours, going back to the 68K series have either 2 serial 
ports or an internal modem, so the market for Mac PCI modems doesn't 
exist.   You should buy an external serial modem with a Macintosh 
serial connection on it.   Just to start a very lively discussion, I 
will say that I have had very good experiences with Supra modems for 
the Mac.
