I don't know about 'faster', but IMHO it will run smoother. Personally, I
like 8.6 better than 9.X anyway and for running it on a less than GX Mac, I
would highly recommend it. ESPECIALLY with 48 megs of ram....
BTW, with the current prices of ram, why don't you just upgrade your ram
instead of downgrading your system? It's a step in the right direction! :))
