I am the person who has had the monitor blackout problem on a 7300, and 7200. I
successfully fixed the 7300 with a new PRAM battery. The 7200 is still dark :-(. Since
you are having this problem with a 7300, I recommend trying a new battery, and a PRAM
zapping or 2 or 3 or 4. The darkness may be caused by an "almost" dead battery.
Good luck.

 Subject: Monitor colors too dark
 Message-id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

The colors on my monitor are much too dark !! Never used to be too dark
when I was using this monitor on my G3 B&W. Now the monitor is connected
to a 7300. Browser images, all of my photos, all images, desktop,
everything, etc., is much too dark !!

I already have the monitor adjusted to as bright as it can go, and
everything is still much too dark. I have tried every resolution
possible, but that doesn't make any difference.

This same problem happened once, when somebody installed OS 9x from
their CD onto my G3 B&W. But when I reinstalled OS 9.1 from another CD,
the colors were back to normal.

 Any suggestions ?

 Specs :

-- monitor is 17 inch KDS
 -- 128 Rage 16 MB video RAM
 -- 7300/180
 -- 72 MB RAM
 -- OS 9.1
