Yes indeed.

I could not install OSX on my 7600  G3 (via sonnet crescendo card )with 
a PCI  ATI  Rage Orion 128 video card installed . You get kernel panics 
early in the installation.

Once I physically removed the PCI video card and connected an apple 
monitor directly  to the monitor connector, all went well.

Note : I found no problems  with a Keyspan PCI-USB card installed.
