The carrier card alone costs $109 for single processor capacity and $129 for "MPe" (multi-processor-enabled) function at Other World Computing (www.macsales.com). However, the daughterboard cards for the older PCI machines do not seem to be more expensive that the euqivalent ZIF cards necessary for the carrier. In fact, you can currently buy 333 - 350 MHz daughterboard cards for $125 (Small Dog) to $165 (?) (Other World). I would guess you could resell a daughterboard card quicker than the ZIF alone. (This could change as more of the used machines are newer architecture and with provision for ZIF cards from the beginning.)
