At www.otherworldcomputing.com, you can purchase a ZIF carrier daughter card (a
daughter card with no processor, allowing you to insert any zif processor into it) and
then you can go to the upgrade section for any G3 machine and you can fine zif cards
at good prices (G3 233mhz for $35, G3 $69.95) Now, since the ZIF carrier card costs
$109, WHY, you ask, would you get a carrier card and a zif instead of just getting a
new daughter card? Answer: Newer and faster Zif cards are being developed, and as
time goes by, you will be able to get cheaper, faster zif cards, and most likely, the
production of daughter card upgrades will become less popular (due to the fact that
the prices of older machines are going down...and soon there will be no need for
pre-G3 machines)
