I my be submitting this plea for help to the wrong forum and if I am, please
tell me whom I should ask.

I am trying get my Mac to talk to my Windows machine. I guess I want to use
AppleShare IP and set the Mac up as an administrator. I actually have no
clue as what I'm doing. I simply want to share files back and forth. All of
my peripherals are USB so sharing them is no problem. I just swap 'em.
Problem I'm having seems to finding a version of AppleShare IP that I can
use. I am running OS 9.1. I downloaded ASIP 6.1 update (which seems to be a
full install), ASIP 6.3.1 update (which is an update), and ASIP/9.0.4.

ASIP 6.1 won't install because it can't find Open Transport 1.3 or better.
Tried installing OT 2.6. It told me that no update was necessary.
I have 2 hard drives in the Mac. I partitioned one and installed OS 9.0.4
and tried to install ASIP/9.0.4 and it told me that I only had 9.0. It won't
install on 9.1.

There simply has to be better way to do this.

My whole configuration constists of a Power Macintosh 7500/200 604e, 80MB
RAM, 1GB HD (partitioned 9.0.4/untitled), 4GB HD (OS 9.1).
IBM Aptiva AMD K6/266, 128MB RAM, 6GB HD (Windows ME). They are connected to
a cable modem via hub using their respective ethernet ports. I believe I can
use that hub to communicate the two machines. They have their own IP address
and machine name thanks to my ISP.

Help! What the frell am I doing wrong?! If this is the wrong forum, but you
think you might can help anyway, answer off list.

Thanks in advance!
