Listers I don't really know what's going on. I have DSL via verizon and I don't
remember having these problems you're all talking about. In the beginning they
were just as problematic but they seem to have gotten their act together, at
least in Los Angeles. I know for a fact that if LA residents are having
problems with cable companies or phone companies the city will step in. May be
that's why I have not seen a lot of problems with my DSL. I could be wrong.
People need to complain to their elected officials if these things continue. In
America the old saying is still true: the wheel that squeaks is the wheel that
gets oiled, or something like that. Over the weekend I remember reading an
article about cable broadband, DSL via phone companies, satellite, etc...
(sorry I forgot which magazine) ,the summation of the article was not very
encouraging. dsl/broadband has been a big lie. Sure it's still better than dial
up but these companies signed up more people than they can effectively support.
A lot of them are going out of business anyway. I hope that verizon DSL won't
become like what you guys and girls have incurred because then it will be time
for me to move on to something else I don't know what though.
