Hi. I bought a 24x CD rom that was pulled from a Umax SuperMac
computer. It is the Matshuita brand but it doesn't have the standard
Mac audio cable which I wasn't happy about but looks easily adaptable
with a little soldering of a Mac audio cable and a PC cable. My main
problem is that CD's will not mount. I put it in my 7300. I also put
it in my 6100 and I did get it to boot a Mac OS CD but only when I
disconnected the Hard drive. It was terminated so I removed the
jumper. Drive setup shows the CD rom as ID 3 and hard drive at 0, so
that part is ok. It is also has a jumper at "term power" which it
needs to be on from what I understand. Any ideas here. I'm thinking
that this CD rom is only made to work for the Umax computer.
