I switched my machine over last night to a AHA-2940UW PCI SCSI card, capable of 40MB/Sec rates, and my drive is a 20MB/Sec drive. (Yes, the PC version of the card works just fine, just needs to be flashed, the PC card has no flash at all according to the flash program from Adaptec) As compared to the built in 10MB/Sec SCSI, I can see virtually no difference, and when I compared my 101MB of random sized files, it is faster (65 seconds to CMD "D" compared to 75 seconds) but it is still very slow in my book. I have all the SCSI Control Panel settings for the card set to fastest, and all it shows it 20MB/Sec max (with or without the drive connected). Am I missing something to get this SCSI card moving very fast or is there something wrong with the OS that is causing me headaches, or something else all together? Thanks!
