Well I worked many hours last evening and finally got my dead 8500 working
again. Turns out it was the power switch at the front. Not the plastic
outer switch for those who are familiar with this beast, but rather the
internal little black switch. I have now fixed this and all is well. The
chime has returned and I am now running at 400MHz G3 speed thanks to
Sonnet.
A BIG thanks to all who gave me encouragement yesterday via the list. You
convinced me to try and try again.
