I had a thought while I was watching the flash animation posted earlier
here. Wouldn't it be miraculously wonderful if the wise folk at Apple and
Microsoft could get together and write ONE OS that works on either a Mac or
a PC. An OS that combines the BEST of both Mac OS and Windows. An OS that
supports EVERYTHING! And they should come out with a computer that
recognizes any PCI card ever invented. It should immediately be configured
for use and you don't even need to have the computer off when putting it
in.... Wouldn't that be wonderful?
One the other hand, for use in prisons, they could combine an OS of the
worst traits of the Mac OS and Windows. A computer that crashes every 5
minutes without fail.....and doesn't let you save your work between crashes.
A computer that must be spinning at 3 rpms on an alternate Tuesday before it
will let you upgrade anything!
