Sure, you can put a Zif in a 9500 with an adapter. You can get an adaptor made by
XLR8.com and also Sonnettech.com .
Personally, I have a Zif/adaptor in my 9600. I had a regular daughercard upgrade at
home point, but when I decided to get a faster G3, I opted for the zif. The advantage
of a zif/adapter is its continually upgradeable. When you want a faster mac, buy a new
zif and put it in the adapter. This will save you money. These kind of upgrades are
referred to as "Upgradable upgrades" You can put a G3 or G4 in one of these adapters.
I am willing to bet you when the G5 comes out, it will be different and you will not
be able to use the same adapter. But who knows I could be wrong about that.
So if you buy a zif with an adapter and then upgrade at a later date, it could save
you around $100 or so on your future upgrade.
Hope this helps.
