First, it isn't actually called a "Daughter Card" in that there is no slot labelled "Daughter Card." A daughter card is just a nickname for a card that plugs into the logic board (or motherboard). If you look inside your 9500, you'll see a card with a massive aluminum heatsink plugged into the logic board. That's a daughter card, more specifically a processor card. You may also occasionally see PCI cards referred to as daughter cards. As for Red Hat, it won't run on your Mac. Red Hat is specifically compiled to run on x86 (PC) systems. If you want to run Linux on your Mac, look for Mandrake 8.0 PPC or Yellow Dog Linux, both of which are based on Red Hat.
