Chris, I have the Yamaha 8424 SCSI CDRW in my 9600 and it works great (also ordered from Computer Geeks). I ordered the proper faceplate from MacGurus to complete the installation (#K8659), as it did not replace my CD-ROM. I am very pleased overall.
