Thanks for all the help...I think (we started going away from my problem and
into something else). Anyway, I discovered it myself and found the problem
was the guy who pulled this 24x cd player had looked at the back of another
(probably Apple) branded player and had put the jumpers in the same exact
order whereas the TERM pins are actually in a different location on a Sony
CDU-625. Once I hooked up the term jumper it started responding although
now I have a different problem. Once I boot the computer (7500 PowerMac)
the cd player will not open on its' own until after the desktop appears and
only after I have opened it once by using a paper clip in the eject hole and
then closed it by hand. Seems like too much fuss so I think I'll just
return it and get a genuine Apple branded CD player.
