One other possibility you might want to consider is the Miglia Alchemy FW&USB PCI board. It's an English outfit, as you might guess from the name. They have an American subsidiary that does their distribution and customer support. I have no experience with their FW&USB card, but I will be getting their ATA100 IDE board, which I selected after spec comparisons from the same list of manufacturers you have listed, plus VST. I am impressed with Miglia's technical support and cooperativeness and accessibilty, which I've learned should be a big component of making these choices. To help me make up my mind, they even calculated the file transfer times for the file sizes, hard drives, and processor I told them I will be using, and they did it the same day I asked.
