I find that Toast 5.0 requires QuickTime 4 or higher in order to work. The
computer on which Toast 5 is to be used has only QuickTime 3 which came as
part of OS 8.6, so I must upgrade. My questions:

1. Must I uninstall QuickTime 3 before upgrading, or can I install the
upgrade on top of it and have everything take care of itself? I can find
nothing on the Apple Quicktime website which answers this question.

2. If it's necessary to uninstall, how is that done? There are QuickTime
extensions and control panels and plugins and preferences all over the
place, which I suppose I can find with Sherlock, but is there a simpler way?

3. The Apple Quicktime website has both QuickTime 4 and QuickTime 5
available for download. Is it worthwhile to go to 5 when 4 is all that's
necessary? I don't want to burden the machine with features I won't ever
use.

4. I didn't find out I needed a QuickTime upgrade until after I had
installed Toast 5 and found it didn't work. Should I uninstall Toast 5
before upgrading Quicktime and then re-install Toast 5, or is it OK to
leave it alone? I don't want to make a mess I will be unable to untangle.

Thanks for any help I can get.
