Don't listen to the rep you met in person. We bought a VST UltraTek PCI
controller from OWC and yes it did come with Mac software called SoftRAID,
you can format an unformated IDE hard drive with that. Drive Setup may also
work, though I haven't tested this. We have 20.5 GB IBM Deskstar to go with
it that we also bought from OWC. Works great.
