Well, I'm hoping somebody can help me with this one.

At work we run SAP R/3. Until recently the whole SAPsystem in our company
was just PC (about 10 different countries)...
.. except for the sole Mac I'm running (You should have seen the face of
the SAPresponsible when he found out!). I must say it took me some days
before I could connect to the server abroad, but I'm running the Mac SAP
version for some months now, quite happily, on a daily basis.

Now they are going to upgrade the server software, and as a result all
clientsoftware has to be upgraded too. The PC's went from 4.0 to 4.6
without too many problems -only two machines have to be replaced :-) -
and my Mac has to go from 4.5 to 4.6. That wouldn't be too much of a
problem, but 4.5 is a native Mac app, and 4.6 is some sort of Java thing
which I do not fully understand. The result is that I have to search and
find again the right way to configure the 4.6 soft to get to the server.
I already am able to get the soft starting up, bt I need to configure the
settings with the right servers adresses, and am stuck at something
rather simple : The settings of the SAPsoft doesn't support point and click.
I mean : I have to manualy type a filepath in from where a configfile is
on my harddisk, I can't browse for the file. I do not know how to do it,
does anybody know how ??
What I mean : what do you use as the fileseparator in a Mac filepath, a /
or a : or something else; do capitals matter;... when you have to type in
a filepath.
I constantly get Java errors "could not open, java io file not found"

Has anybody any experience with things like this, or with setting up the
configuration of a SAPclient ? Or does anybody know which clientversions
are compatible with which serverversion ? Or does anybody know where to
find more info ?
I know it's probably isn't the most used soft on a Mac, but hey...

I hope I can find a solution for this, otherwise I'll have to swith back
to a PC.

greetings, Bramke

BTW, I'm running it on a 8200, but I'll think if I can get it running,
I'll have to invest in a B&W G3. (As the readme says "G3 and 128 physical
RAM" as a minimum, and G1/120 and 80 MB is too far off for pleasant
working I suppose)
