Not all Macs are created equal, but it's more likely that your RAM will not
like 50MHz before the other parts of your motherboard will.

Well... Remember how I was talking about the 7600 in the past tense? That's
because I traded is for a 9500. You see, currently theres a little
compatability problem in OS X with any pre-beige G3 machine that has onboard
video. It tends to break the PCI slots. Sometimes USB cards work, but video
cards almost never do. Luckily the 9500/9600 as well as several clones run
just fine. Right now, I'm using that G3 400 @ 476 with an ATi Rage Orion and
256MB of EDO RAM interleaved in OS X. Runs beautifully. I'm using a USB PCI
card and a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer too.
Eventually, I'm sure that the PCI problems will be fixed. However, with the
impending release of 10.1, I'm sure Ryan Rempel et. al. will be far more
busy updating the install proceedure.
