There's a mailing list specifically devoted to running X on unsupported
hardware, you can find it at:

Not that it's really off-topic here, it IS still a PCI PowerMac, no matter
was ugly OS you put on it.  You just might find more people there who are
experts in what you're asking.

Of course REAL experts subscribe to ALL the lists, so maybe it's a mute
(moot? (moof?)) point.
