It is not an easy thing to have lived in the 20th century and /not/ cried at
the news. Let's hope the 21st goes better.

P.S. On the subject of PCI Macs...I hope to be installing a Metabox G4/400
Zif on an XLR8 Carrier card, then sticking both in a 9600/200. Good feedback
at xlr8yourmac on same. Anyone using this configuration? Problems? OS X at
all?
I got some cheap memory at Other World Computing (OWC, not on the above
list!), though I see it's cheaper at velocityupgrades.com: $29 vs. $39, I
believe. OWC calls their PCI memory "128MB 168 Pin Mac 5V DIMM 60NS 4K FPM
non-EDO (2K per bank, 16x4 based, converted)" - so what's the deal on the
"converted" aspect? They say it's 100% compatible and offers the same
performance, though it was $5 cheaper. They do offer a solid lifetime
warranty, so I'm not too worried (and unlike others, I've always had free
pickup and shipping back to OWC for any defective parts).
I also bought a 128MB module (Powerbook 3400) for $99 (Techworks, lifetime
warranty), the cheapest price I've ever seen on that memory. Also found some
old 30-pin memory for a couple of IIci's, so I guess I won't have any more
excuses for not setting the parents-in-law with email!!
