Yes. Buy a Sonnett Ultra/ATA/66 or ATA/100. I have one in my 6400/400 and 
i now dont even have a drive hooked up to the internal IDE and it boots 
fine. I simply booted from a cd and then used startup disk to select the 
correct drive to boot from. Wroks flawlessly.
