Don't buy MacZone RAM. Its way overpriced. Go to Coast Memory (1800-4-MEMORY), Other World Computing or Velocity Upgrades. For the best price, hit up RAMSeeker (http://www.ramseeker.com/) and it'll get you a good one. RAM comes in several types. Your 9600 uses Dynamic Random Access Memory, specifically 168 pin 5 volt Fast-Paged Mode (FPM) DIMMs with a maximum access time of 60 nanoseconds. It can also use Extended Data Out (EDO) RAM, but it doesn't gain any speed increase from doing so. Newer computers use Synchronous Dynamic RAM. This is, well, quite a bit faster than DRAM. Common access times these days are in the ballpark of 6-10ns. They also uses 3.3V instead of 5V, so if you put PCxxx in a 9600 you'll get the car crash sound and a yummy burning smell. The "xxx" in PCxxx RAM is the DIMMs speed rating in megahertz. PC66 is rated to 66MHz, but will clock up to about 83MHz. PC100 is rated at 100MHz and clocks at least to 108MHz safely. I've never run PC133 RAM beyond 133MHz. So to answer your question they will not work in your machine. In addition, the price is very high, cheap would be under $12.
