It is compatible. What do you mean by 'pinstripes'? When I upgraded my 7300
to a G3, the internal video was too slow for the CPU and areas of the screen
the system was updating very fast broke down into a pattern of horizontal
flickery lines (such as the number of files left when I empty the trash).
If you're referring to an artifact like that, perhaps you might consider an
inexpensive video card (an ATI Rage Orion solved the problem and got me
decent 3D acceleration besides).
