Actually, I've had a very mixed reaction to Radeons. I just tried to upgrade my PC from a Voodoo3 3000 16 meg AGP to a Radeon 64 megs DDR VIVO, and absolutely everything I did with it was *slower* than my Voodoo. I don't know why, and I totally nuked and reinstalled Windows just to make sure that there wasn't something screwy with my system, but it was still slower. And not by a little either. For example, in one game, Nascar 4, I was getting 9-15 fps with the Radeon and 30-45 with the Voodoo3. It was very strange, but I know I tweaked the software as much as it could be tweaked and I know my hardware is fine.
I suppose it might be different for a Mac, but I returned the Radeon and ordered a GeForce 3 :) Just my two cents, Scott Holder ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mr. Elusive" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PCI PowerMacs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2001 12:09 PM Subject: Re: Looking for Video Card for Open GL > BUY A RADEON IT KICKS ASS!
