I had major trouble booting an early 1GB Jazz drive. Perhaps this is fixed now. Note: SCSI firmware typically makes SCSI devices bootable. Easy as pie on a Mac. It takes an advanced SCSI card on a PC to boot anything other than the first device! However, the I-Omega software makes the ZIP/JAZ/etc. drive *stable*. You're playing with fire (ie, lost data) running the drive without the software. It was never designed to be a boot drive! -- A.
