I duped a CD on my Q840AV using a Yamaha 8424 and a 4x CD-ROM.  I was able
to burn at 4x.  In simuilation the buffer dropped only slightly.  I don't
think I'd do it again though, just to be on the safe side.  I think you
should be fine with a 12X.  Make sure you have a large RAM buffer setup in
Toast.
