The best instructions for installing 9.2.1 on PCI Macs can be found in the MacFixIt Forums <http://www.macfixitforums.com/php/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=OS92&Number=231805&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=7&part=4> along with the details of what the patches do. The following were copied from the 4th page: The patch is quite easy to do, even if you have never used ResEdit before. 1. Download the 9.2.1 installer 2. Download Scott`s files (both!) 3. Download GestLab and GestLab Database (do a search on www.versiontracker.com) 4. Use DiskCopy to make a read/write copy of the Mac OS 9.2.1 Updater disk image 5. Run Scott`s "Update to Mac OS 9.2.1 patch" on the new r/w disk image. This will create a new installer file called "Update to Mac OS 9.2.1 upda 1.0" 6. Use GestLab to change the "mach" parameter to 510 (don`t be scared, it does not hurt the Mac) 7. Without rebooting, run the new installer you created in step 5 8. Reboot from your Mac OS 9 CD (hold down "C" during start-up) or from a second hard drive partition with a valid system folder 9. Run Scott`s "System 9.2.1 patch" on the System suitcase in the 9.2.1 system folder you installed in step 7 10. Voila! You just need to reboot from your 9.2.1 hard drive Hope this helps. -- Mr. PopMan - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - "Does anybody want to play a game of pinball?"
