I've found that a _clean_ trackpad is more accurate than anything, except the new optical trackballs like the Logitech TrackMan Marble and the new Microsoft Intellimouse Trackballs. They've got a red and black spotted ball and a laser tracks it. Very, very accurate. I've found it to be accurate to within 1 pixel at 1024x768. At a normal tracking rate too, not the slowest speed.
