As a bit of trivia, I've always read that there was a bit of an argument back in the day about whether the menus should be sticky or not, and the decision was eventually made by Jobs. And you know how Jobs was about those things :) As for copying the names of files.folders, if you mean like the actual name, all you have to do is right click/copy or ctrl-c. If you mean make a duplicate of the file/folder (as in the File-Duplicate in MacOS), then just highlight, copy, and then immediately paste.
