I know this problem was mentioned here the other day, but please forgive me, because for the life of me I cannot remember what was said about it (age + "experiences" + beer = early senility):
I just purchased a Ati Rage Orion card from a fellow on the swap list, and it seems to work just fine, but no matter what I tell it to do, it stays locked on 640 x 480 resolution. I installed the newest drivers, the Radeon 1.1.1, but other than a fancy new icon on the menu bar, nothing changed. Was there a flash-rom problem or something else unfixable that caused this problem for other folks, or is there some workaround so simple and straightforward that it plum escapes me? If neither, should I assume that any pleas for help from Ati will go unanswered?
