----------------
I don't know abut the PTP, but my understanding for the 9600
is that it accesses slots in reverse order, that is 6, 5,4, ect. So
it is a good practice to put RAM in slots A6 and B6 first and then in
descending order. I personally always install RAM in matched pairs.
However this rule need not constrain you too much. I have run
a single RAM module in one of the slots closer to the middle of the
9600 motherboard with no problem. I do this when testing RAM because
the motherboard flexes quite a bit near the edge when RAM is inserted
or removed, and flexes less toward the center. And I don't like
motherboard flex when I can avoid it.
