<< Hmm...I wasn't aware that any of them read the ram in reverse order...in what order does a 7500 read? I will have a 128, 64, 16, 16...should I mix the 16's in between the 64? when I get this 7500 motherboard (my 7200 smoked and burnt on me) I have a Sonnet G3 going in..what do you guys think? Thanks >> Quoting from The Apple Memory Guide November 2000 regarding the 73,75,76,85 and 8600's: <Note: DIMMs can be installed individually. However for maximum performance, install DIMMs in matched pairs and in paired slots (A4 and B4 first, then A3 and B3, etc.).> The same applies for the 95 and 9600 except use A6 and B6 first. Memory interleaving not supported in the 7200. This does not address any issues that may result from a G3 or G4 upgrade. My 7500 uses 4-128s interleaved with xlr8 G3 466 MHz/1 MB processor with no problems. And my 7300 has used 4-128s and 2-64's interleaved with either a Newer 604e/200 MHz or an xlr8 604e/200 MHz card and 512 Cache installed without problems. However I can't say I actually noticed any real world performance increase resulting from the RAM arrangement. --glen (digest mode) -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
