I have A 7300/166 and have a dual processor card from a Umax S900 that I'd

like to use in it.

the main processor card has had (I think) the correct jumpers inserted into

the daughter board connector to enable it to run as a single card (first 4

jumpers closed).

When I switch on the machine it hangs, usually on the splash screen, only

once have I managed to get to the desktop, even then it hung. I've tried

resetting the pram and resetting the motherboard with the little internal

reset button (what is it called again??) but with no luck.

Does anybody have any idea how I can get it to work??

I have never successfully gotten a UMAX or Supermac processor card to work in
a 7300 motherboard, although these same cards will work in a 7500 or 7600.

You might notice that there is a right-angle header at J4 on the top of some
UMAX processors. This will need to be changed to a straight header in order
for the plastic card retainer of the "7500 case" (which includes the 7200,
7500, 7600 and 7300) to completely close.

The correct jumper settings for most purposes are: 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6.
