Can you tell us what you are using to unstuff the files?
I've heard of people having problems unstuffing with the newer
versions of Stuffit Expander.  The mac newsgroups recommend
Stuffit 4.5, because the 5 and 6 versions don't always
work.  I don't know why, but I took their advice and 4.5
always works fine for me.
