I really do not have the technical info you requested but I recall 
reading that they were not recommended to use in the past but newer 
CD roms seem to not have any problems with them. I remember I burned 
some 700MB in the past and had difficulty with them  loading on my 
7300 12xCD rom, particularly CDR's used for storing data. The CD rom 
would whir desparately, trying to mount the CD and I often had to 
restart the computer, so I quit using them. But with my 48x IDE Apple 
CD rom there is no problem at all with them. Even the CDRW 700mb work 
fine. In fact, you see 650mb CDR's less and less at the major stores 
like Best Buys, etc. Most of your rebates also are for 700mb anymore.
