I connected the AppleVision 850 to my PCI Mac....and went onto the Apple ftp site, which is FINALLY up and running again, and downloaded the AppleVision 1.5.5 software and installed it.
I plugged the ADB cable thats part of the AppleVision monitor cable into the ADB port on the CPU and connected my Kbd. and mouse to the two ADB ports on the base of the monitor. I restarted and everything worked nicely, and all of the new features in the Monitors and Sound control panel workt, too. After a few hourds I left the computer running and went for dinner and when I returned the monitor had gone to sleep and would not wake up. I left the system down overnight and the next day the same thing happened. The monitor just goes to sleep. I disconnected it from the video card that it was connected to...a ixMicro Twin Turbo 128 8-meg card.... and connected it to the other video card in the CPU (a 3dfx Mac-zapped 16-meg Voodoo3 2000) to see if that made a difference. No difference. The picture is rock-solid and very sharp. This is a 20-inch Apple monitor. Any ideas ??? -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
