Hi,

I have a SCSI CD burner (Yamaha CRW4416S) attached to a blue&white G3 via
a USBXpress SCSI adapter. It used to work with Mac OS 8.6, but 9.1
refuses to start when the adapter is attached and the burner is
turned on (grey screen, no mouse pointer, no happy mac, just stays
like that indefinitely). The symptoms are reminiscent of those of a
SCSI conflict (like two devices with the same id), but there is only
one device, SCSI id 2, termination on, and this used to work on 8.6.

This makes the burner unusable under 9.1.

I searched the web for new drivers, to no avail (the drivers on the
website are the ones I've got).

I have 8.6 installed on a different partition, but there ought to be
a better solution (short of buying a new burner --- not an option
right now --- or adding a SCSI card). In due course, I hope to add a
firewire burner or maybe replace the internal dvd drive, but right
now I would like to just use the burner I have. Any ideas? Tia.

Luis
