I was pleased to hear that there might be a rebirth of the old apple spec for older products. I used your link and waited... then I went to the specifications link and saw all the recent info on the stuff I have no current budget for. At the bottom there was indeed a link to the older products. It was the same URL that you mentioned. Unfortunately the same result occurred. I waited and waited for nothing to appear. I hope they return the old specs to the site as we Mac enthusiasts haven't finished referring to them yet.
I hope that there are Apple.com people watching this list and see my post as I would like to add my voice to the growing list of North Americans (and globally) that say that the Apple Spec section on older Macs was an excellent resource to refer to. It was a shame that they discontinued it and I wish to say that I am not alone in the opinion that Apple give us back the edge we had over the crap that has been churned out by the competition namely the "clone" market. Knowing that we had built in ethernet in most of the earlier machines only gives rise to the truth that Mac was and shall always remain forward thinking and light years ahead of the competition. When we buy used equipment, we don't often get the original info included. These Apple Spec pages gave us something that although could be sought elsewhere (at great inconvenience), reassured us that Apple didn't forget those whom have been loyal and supportive in the past. I realize that most of the older systems may be obsolete to one extent or another, but the versatility of the older equipment still amazes me today. From my Apple IIe (1st Mac I ever owned) to my 7300/200 (current gem) I have been impressed at the functionality offered and the interest these systems still generate today.
