Sounds as if your Ethernet extensions are missing from your extensions
folder. Check your System Folder for Extensions (Disabled) and see if they
are in there. If not, you may have to reinstall them. You may need to first
find out who is the manufacturer of the ethernet card. Then you could go to
the manufacturer's website and download the driver/software installer, that
is, if you don't have the software that came with the card.

Also, open your Chooser and make sure that AppleTalk is active.
