Hello
Enjoy the list....everyone.

I purchased an 8500/120 approx. 4 weeks ago, hooked it up to
my current monitor & keyboard, started it up to make sure that
everything ran fine. It did. I even updated the OS from 8.1 to 9.1
just to be sure that the CD worked ok. I unhooked everything and
put it in the garage until I had more time to be able to gut my
8100 of it's 2 hard drives and CDRW.
Today, I made all the transplants (HD's & burner) and once I past
a SCSI termination problem, I figured I was ready to go. NOPE.
One of the drives is empty but the other has 9.1 on it. If it tries
to boot up on the 9.1 HD it gives me a "SYSTEM ERROR" (BUS
ERROR) just as the extensions start to load. I will get the same
error even starting with extensions off. Since my burner is not
bootable, I swapped it for the original 4x cd that came with the
8500. I tried starting with a bootable OS installation disc but get a
similar "BUS ERROR" bomb.
I've dismantled everything pulled and reseated all RAM, VRAM,
the processor card and reset the CUDA but I still get the same
results. The only thing that I can think of, that I didn't do was
replace the battery. Any ideas?
