Excuse me, it sounds like you don't know LOCATION MANAGER... What you need is just to create two or more locations in each mac, and switch to the appropriate location when needed. Location Manager is part of Mac OS since around system 7.6. Depending on your version of the OS, it may require a custom install (this is not needed in newer versions, but older versions apparently only installed it by default in portables). If it's installed, just create two configurations in your TCP/IP control panel, one for direct and other for "routed" access. If the only difference is in the TCP/IP settings you might even do without location manager, just switch to the appropriate TCP/IP configuration. But with Location Manager you may switch the configuration of AppleTalk, Modem, Remote Access, even default printer and time zone with ONE CLICK.
